Extension Trips:

Fiji is 330 sunny, unspoiled, magical, exotic islands just a few short hours from Australia. It is a thousand miles of pristine white sand beaches, fabulous coral gardens and azure lagoons. These islands offer a unique environment of extreme beauty and tranquillity - a nature lover's delight. Adrift for millennia in the splendid isolation of the South Pacific, Fiji has escaped the evils of industrial progress - its safe tropical forests are within easy walk of your resort and in some cases part of your resort. Clear waters and countless miles of virgin coral reefs offer unsurpassed snorkelling and diving.

The beachfront Sheraton Royal Denarau Resort offers a unique experience of Fiji's authentic culture. Named to Condé Nast Traveler's 2002 Gold List and 2003 Gold List Reserve, this proudly Fijian style resort features traditional architecture, and lush tropical gardens filled with exotic flowers and native birds, reminiscent of some of Fiji's natural forests. This genuine island feeling is maintained throughout the resort with local artifacts, tapestries, and priceless ancestral carvings.

Located on Denarau Island, a 684-acre island that is joined to Fiji's mainland by a causeway, we are located just 20 minutes from Nadi International Airport and three minutes from Port Denarau Marina. Part of Fiji's only five-star integrated resort - Sheraton Resorts, Denarau Island - offers an extensive range of dining, recreation, leisure, and conference facilities, whether on the premises or at one of two neighboring Sheraton resorts or the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club. The resort itself features a diverse selection of restaurants, bars, cultural events and activities.

Guest rooms are comfortably appointed in true Fijian style with traditional hand pounded tapa cloth bed canopies and rattan furniture, creating a genuine South Pacific ambience. Each room has a private balcony or terrace with views of the Pacific Ocean.

Package Inclusions:
Based on twin share (2 people sharing an ocean view room) subject to availability and based on current exchange rates.  Subject to change without notice.

  • 5 nights accommodation at the Sheraton Royal Denarau (deluxe traditional Fijian style resort)
  • American buffet breakfast daily
  • FREE use of non motorized water sports

Weather: Summer - December to April
Summer begins early in December and lasts until April. During this time it is hot and humid (32oC by day) with bright sunny mornings and predictable late afternoon downpours on the larger islands, although the small offshore islands often miss these downpours altogether. This 'wet season' is a good time to come to experience the lush vibrancy of the rainforest - rivers are full, waterfalls gushing and the hills of the larger islands become refreshingly green. The down side is the high humidity, the increase in mosquitoes and the possibility of tropical storms or mightier cyclones.

Activities
Fiji is the adventure capital of the South Pacific Islands. The country ranks in the top 10 destinations in the world for scuba diving and is renowned as the soft coral capital of the world. Surfing is excellent, although reef breaks make this a destination for serious surfers and not beginners. Eco Challenge 2003 was set in Fiji and confirms the islands as an outstanding place to explore, with high tropical mountains, river rapids and untouched beauty.

The big island of Viti Levu offers a wealth of tropical scenery, from rushing mountain rivers and waterfalls in the depths of the rainforest, to palm-fringed beaches where time seems to stop. This is where you can fish from the reef in the morning, picnic at the edge of a waterfall plunging into a rocky jungle pool at midday and eat native food cooked in an earth oven in the evening, and then dance to the beat in a swinging discotheque until long after midnight. Along with it's pristine tropical beauty, Viti levu offers several large towns and the bustling capital of Suva, a shopper's paradise and you will never have to travel more than a few hours to get anywhere on the island.

The following are some of the many tours available:
